Floyd Schofield and Haskell Rhodes are ready to take advantage of a unique promotion to the top of the card of a Golden Boy-produced event on July 8.
Schofield vs. Rhodes, initially opening a card featuring Eimantas Stanionis vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr., airs on DAZN inside the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. Booked for a third time, Stanionis vs. Ortiz again got nixed after Ortiz fell ill and reportedly was sent to hospital.
Schofield turned pro in 2020. The 20-year-old has 11 wins via knockout, beating Jesus Valentin Leon in his last fight in April via the power punch.
Rhodes turned pro in 2011 and is 2-2 in his past four fights. The 35-year-old had a 24-fight unbeaten streak snapped in 2015 but recovered by going 5-3. He last fought in March, beating Raymond Chacon via unanimous decision.
