The Razorbacks battled as the lowest seed ever to reach the Final Four as a No. 9 seed. Arkansas started with a six-point win over No. 8 seed Hawaii, then advanced to the regional semis with an 82-64 win against No. 16 seed Harvard, who upset No. 1 seed Stanford in the previous round. The Razorbacks then found themselves in the regional final after a 79-63 win over No. 5 seed Kansas.
Arkansas then clinched a spot in the Final Four with a five-point win against No. 2 seed Duke before losing to the eventual national champion Tennessee.
(7) Minnesota, Final Four (2004)
No. 7 seed Minnesota’s improbable run to the Final Four required wins against the region’s top three seeds after an opening round win against No. 10 UCLA. Minnesota crushed No. 2 Kansas State by 19 points in the second round, and advanced past the regional semis with a 76-63 win against No. 3 Boston College.
