Czech club ZVVZ USK Praha will be getting some long-awaited reinforcements for Week 6 of EuroLeague Women group play. Australian center Ezi Magbegor, who had been taking some time off after playing for the Seattle Storm in the WNBA, is set to make her EuroLeague season debut for Praha this Wednesday, Nov. 27.
Magbegor was magnificent for Praha last season, which was her first in EuroLeague Women. She averaged 13.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while leading the competition with an average of 2.4 blocked shots, and was named to the All-EuroLeague Women First Team for her efforts. Along with Brionna Jones and Isabelle Harrison, Magbegor gives Praha arguably the deepest frontcourt in the competition, and she’s a crucial part of the club’s defensive-minded identity.
Magbegor and Praha will be looking for a big win this week against Awak Kuier and Umana Reyer Venezia. Both clubs sit at 3-2, one game behind Valencia Basket Club (4-1) in the Group D standings. All three clubs have already clinched a spot in the second round of EuroLeague Women group play, however, which will begin in mid-December.
