College basketball’s biggest stars are no more. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are pros now and about to make their WNBA debuts.
It was no surprise to see Clark selected No. 1 in the WNBA Draft by the Fever. Reese went a few picks later at No. 7, chosen by the Sky. And now their rookie seasons begin.
While the former Iowa and LSU stars maintain they’re friends off the court, what happens during the game is another story. They’ll meet up four times this WNBA season with the first faceoff coming June 1. Not only will they face each other, but former South Carolina teammates Aliyah Boston and Kamilla Cardoso will go head-to-head, too. Boston, who plays for the Fever, was the No. 1 pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft while Cardoso was selected third by the Sky in this year’s draft.
The Sky-Fever rivalry will be one for the ages as Reese and Clark begin their professional careers. There’s a reason their games are some of the most anticipated this season.
