Caitlin Clark versus Aaliyah Edwards. We saw the two battle it out in the NCAA women’s basketball Elite 8 just a matter of weeks ago. Two months later, the former Iowa and UConn stars go head-to-head for the first time in the WNBA.
In case you missed it, Clark was drafted No. 1 to the Fever in this year’s WNBA Draft. Edwards was selected by the Mystics as the No. 6 overall pick. Both will make an immediate impact, on and off the court, as two of the most anticipated rookies in the league this season.
Clark and Edwards face off for the first time on June 7 in Washington, DC. No surprise, the Clark Effect took place for this game, too. It was originally scheduled for the Entertainment and Sports Arena, but demand for tickets for the game caused the Mystics to move it to Capital One Arena, which has a capacity of 20,000.
