Emma Raducanu had a quite bizarre press conference at the Madrid Open which was cut short by a WTA official, per The Telegraph. During her pre-tournament press conference in Madrid, Raducanu was asked 16 questions. Raducanu provided just 58 words in her answers.
After just less than three minutes into the presser, a WTA official stepped in and said: “I think let’s just leave it there”.
How did Raducanu’s answers look?
If Raducanu beats Viktoriya Tomova in the Madrid first round, she will meet world No 1 Iga Swiatek.
Raducanu was asked to assess her Madrid draw. “It is what it is,” Raducanu replied. Raducanu was also asked about her lingering wrist injury. “We’re managing it,” Raducanu said. Raducanu was asked to share her thoughts on a 6-2 6-1 loss to Jelena Ostapenko in the Stuttgart first round last week.
“She played a great match,” Raducanu reflected. Also, Raducanu was asked to reflect on her Miami Open first-round loss to Bianca Andreescu. “Yeah it was a good trip in America, tough match. But yeah, moving on,” Raducanu said.
