Emma Raducanu has revealed that she prefers winning another Grand Slam title over reaching the world No 1 position. Raducanu, 20, took part in a Q&A session with fans on Instagram. One fan wanted to know what Raducanu would prefer between winning another Grand Slam title and becoming the world No 1.
Raducanu answered by posting a photo of her hugging the 2021 Us Open trophy. Raducanu, ranked at No 68 in the world, hasn’t won any titles since her stunning 2021 US Open win.
‘Raducanu can win more Grand Slams’
Raducanu was just 18 when she became the first-ever qualifier to win a Grand Slam title at Flushing Meadows in 2021.
Since then, Raducanu has often struggled with injuries and her results. But Monica Puig – the 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalist – believes Raducanu can definitely win more Grand Slams in the future. In an interview with Sky Sports, Puig was asked if Raducanu could win more Grand Slams in the future.
“Absolutely! She’s still young. It’s a matter of time. We’re always seeing generational changes with so players like myself and Serena Williams having now stepped away. The new generation that’s going to come and carry the torch for the future generation.
