Emma Raducanu has continued her rankings slump this week as the 20-year-old Briton is now ranked at No 277 in the world. Raducanu, who had three surgeries in May and hasn’t played since then, exited the top-200 for the first time in 27 months last week.
After falling to No 214 last week, Raducanu dropped further 63 spots on the updated WTA rankings list this Monday. Raducanu, who is targeting to return to tennis in 2024, is nearing exiting the top-300. The last time Raducanu was ranked outside the top-300 was in 2021 July – just before she made the Wimbledon round-of-16 as an 18-year-old wildcard.
Raducanu won’t have much points to defend in 2024
Before undergoing surgeries on both wrists and her right ankle, Raducanu appeared in just five tournaments this year.
Raducanu, who was ranked as high as No 10 in the world, won’t have many points to defend in 2024.
