Emma Raducanu has clarified what exactly happened in Seoul as the British tennis star sprained some ligaments in her ankle that will require her to pause for some time.
On Monday, the draw for the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing was released and the 21-year-old’s name was on it. But shortly after, it was revealed that the 2021 US Open champion decided to pull out of the China Open.
Now, the 21-year-old has taken to X to confirm the news but also share what was the exact reason for her latest move.
“Hello, last week in Seoul I sprained some ligaments in my foot which unfortunately need some more time to heal (sad emoji). It means I can’t play in Beijing but I hope to be back competing as soon as I can,” Raducanu wrote on X.
