Emma Raducanu slumped outside the top-200 on this week’s updated WTA rankings and it’s the first time in 27 months that the 20-year-old Briton isn’t ranked among the world’s top-200 players. This Monday, Raducanu dropped a further 20 spots on the WTA rankings list and she is now ranked at No 214 in the world.
Raducanu, who underwent three surgeries in May and hasn’t played since, started the season ranked at No 78 in the world. But after being limited to just five tournaments in 2023 – where she played mostly injured – Raducanu suffered a drop in the rankings.
The last time Raducanu was ranked outside the top-200 was in 2021 July, before she made the Wimbledon round-of-16. After winning the 2021 US Open as the 150th spot, Raducanu improved to No 23 in the world. In 2022 July, Raducanu achieved a career-high ranking of No 10 in the world.
Raducanu tipped to ‘comfortably’ return to the top-100
In August, former British tennis player Tim Henman said a healthy and fit Raducanu will “comfortably” get back in the top-100.
