Emma Raducanu ‘excited’ to test herself against top players in Stuttgart

Emma Raducanu says she had a blast in Stuttgart last year and that’s why she is extremely excited about returning to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. Raducanu, 19, was announced as the global ambassador for German luxury carmaker Porsche last year.

In 2022 April, Raducanu made her debut on the clay courts in Stuttgart – where Porsche is the main sponsor. In her Stuttgart debut, Raducanu clinched two wins before losing to world No 1 Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinal.

‟Very much so! I had a great experience last year and played well, it’s a fun tournament and very well run so I’m really looking forward to returning to Stuttgart,” Raducanu told Porsche-Tennis.

Raducanu on potentially facing a top player early in Stuttgart

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is set to feature several top-10 players, including Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka. Raducanu, who received a main draw wildcard into Stuttgart, could face a top player very early in Stuttgart.

‟The tournament always attracts the world’s top players. The strong field means there’s some great tennis to be seen and good competition. Personally, I like to test myself and compete with the best players in the world, so it’s a challenge I enjoy,” Raducanu said.
