Elina Svitolina declared Iga Swiatek “a great champion” and “a great person” ahead of their Wimbledon match. Svitolina, 2019 Wimbledon semifinalist, is set to meet four-time Grand Slam champion Swiatek in the quarterfinal at The Championships.
Since the start of the war, Swiatek has been voicing support for Ukraine and even organized a charity event for Ukraine in Poland last year.
