Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina says the people of Ukraine are going through horrible times but added she should not be complaining about anything. Svitolina, 28, feels for very every fellow Ukrainian and she has been outspoken in her support of Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion.
After her Wimbledon first-round win over Venus Williams, Svitolina revealed her day usually starts with checking on her family and reading the latest news. Every moment that I’m not on the court I’m checking how my family is doing, how the situation is in Ukraine, monitoring all the time what is happening and how me and my foundation, the team around me, how we can help in that particular moment for some kids, for my family, for friends, for anyone,” Svitolina said.
