Elena Rybakina rose to a career-high ranking of No 4 this Monday following her Rome victory. Rybakina, 23, clinched her second WTA 1000 title this past fortnight in Rome. Before Rome, Rybakina rose to a career-high ranking of No 6 in the world.
After winning Rome, Rybakina secured a top-5 spot for the first time in her career. Since the start of the season, Rybakina has been improving her ranking. After finishing as runner-up at the Australian Open, Rybakina broke into the top-10 for the first time in her career.
Five months later, Rybakina has climbed six more spots on the WTA rankings.
Rybakina aims for the top spot
Following her first WTA 1000 title in Indian Wells this past March, Rybakina achieved at a time her new career-high ranking of No 7 in the world.
