Elena Rybakina wins Wimbledon women’s final

Elena Rybakina defeated Ons Jabeur 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 at the All England Club on Saturday to win the 2022 Wimbledon women’s singles title.

After dropping the first set, No. 17-seed Rybakina stormed back in the second with two breaks to win 6-2. She held off World No. 2 Jabeur in a decisive third set to capture the first Grand Slam title of her career.

The 23-year-old also becomes the first player from Kazakhstan to win a Major in singles and the youngest Wimbledon women’s singles champion since Petra Kvitova in 2011.
