Elena Rybakina called out “a weak WTA leadership” after she apparently “picked up some injuries” due to scheduling in Montreal. At 02:55 local time on Saturday morning, Rybakina concluded her Montreal quarterfinal win over Daria Kasatkina.
That same day, Rybakina was scheduled to play Liudmila Samsonova in the Montreal semifinal. But due to a rain delay, Rybakina’s Montreal semifinal match was pushed back to Sunday. On Sunday, Rybakina finally took to the court and made a strong start before Samsonova came back to win 1-6 6-1 6-2.
After the match, Rybakina called out the WTA as she wasn’t happy at all that she went to sleep at around 5 am on Saturday morning.
