Arsenal’s Sporting Director, Edu Gaspar, has left the club, setting the football world buzzing with rumors of a potential move to Nottingham Forest’s ownership network.
The former Gunners midfielder handed in his resignation on Monday, announcing his intention to pursue a “new challenge” after four transformative years at the club.
Edu, who joined Arsenal as Technical Director in 2019, became Sporting Director in 2022, played a key role in shaping the club’s football strategy.
He worked closely with manager Mikel Arteta, whom he helped recruit, and was integral in securing marquee signings, such as the club-record £105 million ($105m) acquisition of Declan Rice.
