Eagles Super Bowl champion Cooper DeJean gets showered with love in epic courtside treatment at familiar arena

It’s a good time to be an Eagles Super Bowl champion, especially if you’re cornerback Cooper DeJean.

Nearly three weeks removed from his now-viral pick-6 en route to a 40-22 win against the Kansas City Chiefs, DeJean returned to Iowa City to take in a women’s basketball game. which saw the Hawkeyes host then-ranked No. 3 UCLA Sunday.

In a video from Big Ten Network, DeJean was also recognized at mid-court for winning the Super Bowl to showers of cheers from fans at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and on social media.

DeJean has kept a relatively low profile since the win but told Kay Adams via “Up and Adams” how much of a life-changing experience the Super Bowl was for him, especially to conclude his rookie season.

Cooper DeJean, an Iowa alumnus, scored his first NFL touchdown during the season’s grandest game. It’s something his family, specifically his dad, Jason, won’t forget.

“Someone took a video of them after I had scored the touchdown of my parents in the stands,” Cooper DeJean said. “I’ve never seen my dad get that excited before about a play I made. That was definitely pretty emotional watching that back. I’m just glad they get to experience it with me. They’ve been there every step of the way.”
