Dutch swim camp lunchThe Dutch swim team are currently in training, at a camp in Phuket, Thailand… As naturally curious people, we wanted to know all the  ‘ins & outs’ of the camp, so with the help of  Dutch Team Manager, Aad van Groningen, had our questions answered…

This morning we asked about eating habits. We wanted to know what Ranomi and the rest of the team ate throughout the day. This is what we found out…

According to Doctor Reinier de Groot (team doctor), heavy and intensive training requires good, quality food. It is essential to a good recovery.

Each meal includes a vast choice, of healthy, freshly cooked  food, with each swimmer free to choose what he/she fancies.

Carbo-hydrates and protein are sometimes supplied during practice, but only when recommended by the team’s medical staff . Carbo-hydrates and protein allow for ‘high level performance’ training…

Breakfast is at 8am (prior to morning work-out), and lunch is served at 12:30. The afternoon training session (5pm-7pm), is followed with a shower and then dinner at 7:30pm…

If you have any questions regarding nutrition, that you would like us to put to the team, let us know, and we will get them answered for you…..

Stay tuned for more Swim Camp…
