Last night, as the Spring 2025 season of Menswear Paris Fashion Week begins to draw to a close, the fashion pack flocked together to bare witness to the highly-anticipated final collection of Dries Van Noten.
Back in March, the celebrated and revered Belgian designer made the shock announcement he was to step down as creative director from the fashion brand he built up from scratch. For almost 40 years, Van Noten has dedicated himself to his vision and decided to bow out with a bang and a showcase full of emotions, as he hands over the resigns to his creative team. Alain Gossuin opened up the show, who also walked Dries Van Noten’s ebut showcase in 1991. Van Noten favorites Karen Elson and Debra Shaw were also present for the momentous, celebratory and bittersweet occasion, who hit the silver foil leaf runway in designs which ultimately served as a fitting tribute to the DNA of the designer’s attitude of dressing in a “relaxed yet elegant way”. Dries, we salute you.
