Diana Taurasi is returning for her 19th WNBA season.
One of the greatest to ever play the game, Taurasi re-signed with the Phoenix Mercury on a multi-year contract, the team announced on Saturday.
Taurasi has spent her entire career in a Phoenix uniform, and is a three-time WNBA champion, 10-time WNBA All-Star, five-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time WNBA Finals MVP.
“Diana Taurasi belongs in a Mercury uniform, and we are grateful for the continued faith she demonstrates in our organization by returning year after year,” said Mercury GM Ji Pitman. “The way she prepares her body, how much she cares about winning, and how much she cares about our franchise—on and off the court—are just a few of the things that make her a transcendent athlete and quite literally the greatest of all time. We look forward to more accolades, more historic moments, and more wins.”
Reportedly, Taurasi’s deal is for two years, running through the 2024 Paris Olympics, and sits at this year’s supermax number of $234,936.
