Gucci has been without a creative director for just shy of one month, until the brand announced today that Demna will step into the roll. The top design job at Gucci became available back in February, following the not-so-shocking departure of Sabato De Sarno (who served as creative director since January 2023). Given the new appointment, Demna will subsequently leave his role at Balenciaga, with his final collection set to be presented in July during Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week. “I am truly excited to join the Gucci family. It is an honor to contribute to a House that I deeply respect and have long admired. I look forward to writing together with Stefano and the whole team a new chapter of Gucci’s amazing story,” said Demna via a statement.
