The time has come for the anticipated “Crossover at Kinnick” event, where the Iowa women’s basketball plays DePaul in an exhibition game on Sunday, Oct. 15, at Kinnick Stadium — home of the Hawkeyes football team.
This isn’t your typical Sunday filled with football — instead, the women’s basketball team is taking over and ready to start anew ahead of the 2023-24 season. The event could break the all-time women’s basketball attendance record. In 2002, 29,619 attended the NCAA semifinals (UConn-Tennessee and Oklahoma-Duke) and the national title game (UConn-Oklahoma) in San Antonio.

Now it’s Iowa’s turn for the spotlight — playing outside at a football stadium with a sport’s attendance record in sight.
