Cori Gauff, 19, reveals one of her “biggest dreams” is to win an Olympic gold medal for the United States and she would have nothing against if it came with Jessica Pegula in doubles. In women’s doubles, Gauff has had even more success than in singles as she is a two-time Grand Slam finalist there and a former world No 1.
This year, Gauff and Pegula made four doubles finals together and were also semifinalists at the Australian Open and French Open. Gauff and Pegula are selecting tournaments where they are playing doubles. Gauff wants to play less doubles tournaments next year but suggests she is aware that the women’s doubles event might be her best shot at landing a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
