Commonwealth Games stars turn it out for Gold Coast Marathon – More Sport – The Women’s Game

It was the 24-year-olds first Gold Coast Marathon win and she did it in the second fastest time ever finishing in 1:48:21.

“The vibe has been amazing, it’s like a mini Comm Games,” de Rozario said.

“It was nice to get out there and push myself, it’s been a great year and this was a good race.

“The crowds were fantastic, it is probably one of the most fun races I have done,” she said.

Australian teammate and Games silver medalist Eliza Ault-Connell finished in second place. 

De Rozario heads into a heavy training block now as she prepares for the Chicago and New York Marathons later this year.

In the women’s marathon, Trengove, who won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in April, recorded a huge 2:26.31 PB to take home the $40k prize money for going under 2:28.

“I was hoping to run a bit faster than that but I’m still really pleased about it,” Trangove said.
