After a regional round that was chock full of upsets and surprises, the NCAA Division I softball tournament has reached the super regionals.
Among the slew of upsets last weekend was No. 1 overall seed Texas A&M, who became the first No. 1 seed to not reach the super regional round — thanks to the Liberty Flames.
In fact, the Aggies were one of four nationally seeded teams to not advance to the Super Regional round. Despite two of those teams coming from the SEC — the other being No. 10 LSU — the league could still own majority of the spots in the Women’s College World Series. Nine of the 16 remaining teams are from the SEC, and three super regionals match conference foes against each other.
The super regional round follows a best-of-three format with the higher seeded team hosting all three games. By the end of the weekend, the eight team field for the WCWS in Oklahoma City will be set.
Who will keep dancing? Here’s how to watch the 2025 NCAA Division I softball super regional round.
