Coco Gauff had a sensational two months between August and September, winning three tournaments, culminating in her triumph at the 2023 US Open. But this is just a launching pad for the young North American tennis player, who has other important goals for the rest of her career.
During the press conference at this week’s China Open, Gauff said he wants to win more Slams in the future: “I think maybe because my enthusiasm and my ambition are so high, I don’t want to end up with just one Slam. I don’t feel any different .
The first couple of days I did it, then once I got home, I was like: Okay, it’s back to normal.”
Coco Gauff at the China Open, in Beijing
Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff will return to the court in Beijing. The Belarusian will play her first tournament as number one in the world rankings.
The young American, however, will return to the court after making history at the US Open.
Sabalenka will face Sofia Kenin and, if she wins, she will meet one of the players from the qualifiers in the second round. The first seed in her path is Beatriz Haddad Maia, Jasmine Paolini’s opponent.
Elena Rybakina and Barbora Krejcikova were then drawn in the same quarter-final as Sabalenka….
