Coco Gauff could not have been any happier with her display versus Iga Swiatek as the American rated it as “one of my best tennis performances.”
In the opening match of Sunday’s United Cup final, the world No. 3 defeated the Polish tennis star 6-4 6-4 in a clash that featured outstanding tennis from both sides.
For Gauff, one of the most impressive things was that she was able to play pretty balanced tennis throughout the match and that she stayed mentally strong.
In each of the two sets, the 20-year-old was down by a break but she was the one who ended up winning both of those sets.
The American – who faced a 2-4 deficit in the third set before responding with back-to-back breaks to win the next four games – was clinical in her chances after realizing 5-of-8 of her break point opportunities.
