Coco Gauff defeated Jodie Burrage 6-3, 7-5, to qualify for the 3rd round of the Australian Open 2025, where she will face Canadian former US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez.
Coco, after beating Burrage, spoke at the on-court interview about her approaching 21st birthday.
“I’m turning 21 in less than 2 months. Are we having the party? Um, I don’t know! I’m not a big party person. Maybe have a drink with my parents? I don’t know. I was legal everywhere except the United States.
So I don’t think it’s going to change much because I travel a lot. I know my friends want me to party in Miami and do something crazy. But I’m an athlete. So that’s my excitement,” she explained.
