Coco Gauff seemingly still hasn’t figured out how she is going to spend her US Open prize money but noted to her fans it definitely won’t be on paying off a debt since she doesn’t owe anyone anything. Gauff, 19, netted $3 million by winning this year’s US Open.
In a TikTok live session, Gauff was answering some fan questions. One fan wanted to know if Gauff was going to use the money to pay off any potential debts. “I’m 19; I don’t have any debt. I still live with my parents, so I’m not in debt.
I didn’t go to college, so I don’t have any student bills to pay; I’m too young; my parents never put me in that position to be in debt, so I have nothing to pay right now,” Gauff said.
Gauff’s dream became a reality
In 2017, Gauff was beaten by Amanda Anisimova in the US Open girls’ singles final.
Although Gauff didn’t win it all that year, she left the US Open believing she could one day return to the tournament and win it as a pro. That happened this past Saturday when Gauff beat Aryna Sabalenka in the US Open final.
