Cleveland Browns fans remember March 2022. The days and weeks after the trade that brought Deshaun Watson to the Browns in exchange for a plethora of draft picks that Texans’ owner Hannah McNair recently spoke about being thankful for were stressful.
Female fans and season ticket holders struggled with their team adding Watson to the team given his legal issues with the massage therapists who sued him. Other fans felt as though Watson needed a fresh start.
Wherever fans fell on the spectrum of enthusiasm for the Watson trade has likely been revisited in the past couple of days as the news broke that Watson is being sued again.
According to the victim’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, this could be the most significant of the lawsuits against him because it involves sexual assault and battery on a date.
All of this is a preamble for a reporter’s question to Watson on Wednesday, the first time he spoke to the press since news of the latest civil suit broke. He was asked why this keeps happening referencing the numerous lawsuits against him. Watson acted like he did not understand it either.
