Coach Rick Macci reveals Serena Williams and Venus Williams were so close that they would defend each other no matter the situation. Macci, the man who coached the Williams sisters in their childhood, had a chance to get to know the sisters way before they became sporting icons.
In the early 2000s, Serena and Venus had one of the biggest rivalries on the WTA Tour. But what was happening on the court never impacted their relationship off the court – not even a bit. “Serena Williams and Venus Williams were so close as sisters and would always DEFEND the other one no matter what situation on and off the court.
