Supporters of Chelsea Women have raised concerns over the increased cost of season tickets for next season.
Chelsea will play four Women’s Super League (WSL) games and all their Champions League home games at Stamford Bridge next term, with a four-game WSL package priced at £50-£170 — the lowest price costing more than a full adult season ticket for the 2022-23 season.
Season tickets for the remaining seven league games at Kingsmeadow in 2023-24 range from £60-£120 for adults, with the cheapest concession ticket at £30.
Last season, the most expensive adult season ticket was £49, with senior and junior season tickets costing just £5.
Chelsea said that the “significant changes” followed “an extensive program of fan surveys, focus groups and meetings with our playing squad and backroom staff,” adding that “research showed that fans agreed our pricing was too low, particularly concession season tickets”.
But Chelsea Pride and the Chelsea Women Supporters Group released a joint statement on Tuesday, saying that while they understood rising prices, the extent of the increases was “unexpectedly sharp”.
They also called for the club to put in place financing options.
