Chelsea have completed the signing of defender Maelys Mpome from Montpellier.
The 21-year-old has signed a four-year contract that runs until 2028.
Mpome becomes Chelsea’s sixth arrival of the summer following the additions of Louna Ribadeira, Lucy Bronze, Oriane Jean-Francois, Sandy Baltimore and Julia Bartel.

“Maelys has good experience for her age and has developed well at Montpellier in the last few years,” Chelsea general manager Paul Green said. “She is a tall and athletic defender whose profile we believe will suit the WSL.
“We look forward to seeing her further develop and improve in the upcoming years.”
Mpome joined Montpellier from VGA Saint-Maur in 2020. She made 15 Division One Feminine appearances last season, including featuring in Montpellier’s 5-0 loss to Lyon in November, with Lyon then managed by new Chelsea head coach Sonia Bompastor.
