Casper Ruud has questioned Sportico’s numbers as the Norwegian tennis star suggests no one can exactly know how much a player earns except the player and their agent.
This week, Sportico released its annual list of the highest-paid female athletes and the 2021 US Open champion landed at No. 7 with $14.7 million earned this year – $671k came from tournament prize money while $14 million came from endorsement deals.
While Raducanu pocketed less than Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, she made more via endorsement deals – the Pole netted $13 million in that department while the Belarusian collected $8 million. Also, there is Elena Rybakina, who earned “just” $4 million from her endorsement deals.
“Emma Raducanu ($14M) made more in endorsements in *2024* than Aryna Sabalenka ($8M) and Elena Rybakina ($4M) combined. The devil works hard but her agent works harder!” Bastien Fachan wrote on X.
How do you/they know?
Have you seen all of Emma, Aryna and Elena’s contracts with your own eyes?🤔— Casper Ruud (@CasperRuud98) December 5, 2024
