The transition from Georgia to Miami has been anything but quiet for Carson Beck. The quarterback has already faced criticism for following his girlfriend, Miami women’s basketball player and TikTok star Hanna Cavinder, to Coral Gables. Not long after, the couple had their luxury vehicles stolen from their multimillion-dollar home.
And all of this happened before Beck even took a snap for Mario Cristobal’s Hurricanes.
However, Miami and college football fans finally got their first glimpse of Beck in a Hurricanes uniform on Monday as the team began spring practice.
Still recovering from UCL surgery after the arm injury he suffered in the SEC Championship Game, Beck was limited in the first session. Cristobal recently stated that Beck will begin throwing soon, though no clear timeline has been given.
There was one unexpected development in Monday’s practice—Beck is changing his jersey number. Instead of wearing the No. 15 he sported at Georgia, Beck will now wear No. 11, as noted by CBS Sports‘ Shehan Jeyarajah.
