Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sakkari have signed up to meet in a star-studded exhibition match in Mexico. On November 29th, 2018 Australian Open champion Wozniacki and world No 6 Sakkari will clash against each other at Plaza de Toros, Mexico City.
Wozniacki, 33, and 28-year-old Sakkari have played against each other twice on the main level. When Wozniacki and Sakkari met in 2017 Wuhan, the Greek claimed a 7-5 6-3 win. In 2019, Wozniacki made amends for the Wuhan loss as she ousted Sakkari 6-2 6-2 in Charleston.
Since Wozniacki retired from pro tennis after the 2020 Australian Open and didn’t play again until this year’s August, they didn’t have any more meetings.
