Brisbane International tournament director Cam Pearson has shared that the tournament is hoping to have Carlos Alcaraz signed up for the 2024 tournament edition. This week, the Brisbane International announced that Ben Shelton has been added to the 2024 Brisbane men’s tournament player field.
Previously, three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray and world No 8 Holger Rune also signed up to play in Brisbane. For the women’s event, the Brisbane organizers have already confirmed Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, and Naomi Osaka.
The tournament starts on December 31st and the Brisbane organizers are hoping to see world No 2 Alcaraz start his 2024 season in their tournament. “Obviously he’s a quality player we’d love to see in Brisbane. We’ve got another week, let’s see what transpires,” Pearson told AAP.
