In the first of a two-part sit-down on CBS Sports’ “Golazo’s Kickin’ It,” Carli Lloyd spoke candidly, with the usual chip on her shoulder that got her through her 17-year career with the U.S. women’s national team.
The broadcast did not start smoothly. It was set to stream live on Paramount+, but that stream was choppy before cutting to an old episode of “The Champions Club.” Viewers who stuck it out had to jump to YouTube, where the hour-long show was also streaming live.
In the interview, with host Kate Abdo in conversation with former United States men’s national players Clint Dempsey, Maurice Edu and Charlie Davies, Lloyd dished on everything from her harsh criticisms of the U.S. women’s national team to how she feels the team could use a Deion Sanders-style coach to usher in a new era.
