Canada’s men’s national team coach John Herdman addressed the continued tumult with Canada Soccer on Monday in his first in-person media availability since the 2022 World Cup, saying he was “really frustrated” to hear women’s national team star Christine Sinclair stating that former Canada Soccer president Nick Bontis called her demands for a new CBA “b—-ing.” Bontis resigned on Feb. 27. - Herdman was asked how hard it is to coach considering the constant drama behind the scenes. “It’s not easy. Given what everyone has put into the program over the 10 to 20 years, a lot of people have sacrificed a lot,” a clearly emotional Herdman said, before adding a succinct summary of the state of Canada Soccer as it stands: “It should be different.”
