Canada Soccer and general secretary Earl Cochrane have agreed to part ways, the federation announced Thursday. Here’s what you need to know:

Backstory
Cochrane testified that Canada Soccer “hasn’t always been perfect” last month in front of the Heritage Committee.
On the subject of recent budget cuts to the women’s program, Cochrane said, “Recently, Canada Soccer made some funding decisions for the operations of the women’s team that we thought would have minimal impact. We were wrong. Those decisions were made with good intentions of controlling spending.”
