After having played only the WTA 125 in Paris – following the victory of the appeal regarding the doping ba-issue – Simona Halep has stopped again. The cause is physical reasons, despite no news having circulated about her physical problems. The Romanian tennis player updated her fans via a post on Instagram, in which she explained how she needs more time to be able to return to competition.
“I wanted to provide a little health update since I have been away from the tennis court lately. It is not the best news I can give, but I wanted to share it anyway. For a few months now, I have been struggling with a knee injury. It is an injury I have never had before and it is hard to manage, because the pain is persistent,” she wrote.

The Romanian will try to solve the physical problem by trying not to rush things, trying to take all the time necessary to get back in form.
“It has been a very difficult period (almost two years) mentally and emotionally for me and having to deal with physical problems is difficult. I decided to take the time necessary to recover as best as possible, rather than train and play on the pain. My instinct has always been to try to return as soon as possible, but I am not a machine, I am a human being…
