Caitlin Clark’s former coach reveals Fever star’s greatest weakness

The Indiana Fever are an exciting team to watch in the second year of the Caitlin Clark era. The Fever also added players such as Sophie Cunningham and DeWanna Bonner in an attempt to make a deep playoff run. 

Clark was a sensation in her rookie year after a magnificent college career with the Iowa Hawkeyes. So far in 2025, Clark is averaging 19.3 points per game with nine assists and 6.3 rebounds, and she had a triple-double in the Fever’s first game of the season against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. She has picked up right where she left off.

Dominant as Clark continues to be, her former head coach, Lisa Bluder, revealed the biggest weakness she has to overcome during the game on Thursday against the Atlanta Dream.

“I just would love to see her coming off a few more screens, Caitlin’s never been great at the backdoor cut,” Bluder said. “I think that’s something she can really improve on in the future is really try and beat people off that backdoor cut. If they’re gonna face guard her, that’s what you got to do.” 

After all, Bluder knows best, especially after coaching Clark during her entire run with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
