Among the numerous accomplishments and records this season, Caitlin Clark has a chance to add another Big Ten tournament title to her resume.
The Iowa Hawkeyes advanced to the Big Ten tournament final after defeating Michigan 95-68 on Saturday at Target Center in Minneapolis. Clark, who was The Athletic’s unanimous National Player of the Year, paced the Hawkeyes with 28 points, along with 15 assists and four rebounds. She had a better shooting performance Saturday compared to Friday’s game against Penn State, going 10 of 19 from the floor and 4 of 11 from beyond the arc against the Wolverines.
Michigan jumped to a 25-22 lead over Iowa after the first quarter. The Hawkeyes responded in the second, outscoring the Wolverines 29-17. Iowa never relinquished the lead, outscoring Michigan 44-26 in the second half. In addition to Clark, sophomore forward Hannah Stuelke (16), junior guard Sydney Affolter (12) and senior guard Kate Martin (13) each posted double-digit points.
On Friday, Clark surpassed Steph Curry as the new all-time leader in 3-point field goals for a Division I single season.
