Hours before rewriting the NCAA Division I record book, Iowa guard Caitlin Clark reminded us all that superstars get starstruck, too.
With ESPN’s College GameDay in Iowa City, Iowa for the Hawkeyes’ senior day festivities, Clark received the surprise of a lifetime. WNBA legend Maya Moore joined Clark’s pre-game interview, and to say that Clark was thrilled would be an understatement.
“Oh my gosh!” Clark said after screaming from excitement. “My favorite player — I feel like I’m fangirling so hard. … Thanks for being here.”

Clark grew up a fan of Moore’s Minnesota Lynx and vividly recalled meeting her idol when she was 10. Iowa’s superstar, who is set to become the all-time scoring leader in men’s and women’s Division I basketball history, has long drawn inspiration from Moore.
