Division I basketball’s all-time leading scorer saw her iconic No. 22 jersey lifted to the rafters on Sunday afternoon. The ceremony, replete with cinematic music, a deluge of yellow and black across the concourses, and raucous applause, was made all the more euphoric by the result that preceded it: the unranked Hawkeyes downed No. 4 USC and its talisman, JuJu Watkins, 76-69.
Despite the nature of the Trojans’ defeat, they still opted to watch along on the bench as the Clark-centered festivities took place.
