Caitlin Clark continues dominance with triple-double against Penn State

Date:

Caitlin Clark was unstoppable on Sunday in No. 6 Iowa’s 95-51 win over Penn State.

Clark had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists, meaning she scored or assisted on 55 points. At the time that she was subbed out of the game with 3:38 left, Penn State had just 46 points.

The triple-double is the ninth of her career, furthering her Big Ten record and tying Chastadie Barrs for the second-most in NCAA history on the women’s side.

It continues a string of outstanding games for Clark, with the junior having surpassed 20 or more points per game dating back to December. Over the last seven games, Clark has posted four double-doubles and two triple-doubles.

She also posted 42 points against then-No. 8 Maryland, making her the only player in D-I this season to put up two games of 40+ points against ranked opponents. In that game, she became the only D-I player, male or female, over the last 20 years to score 40+ points, have 7+ rebounds and 7+ assists while shooting 60 percent from the field and 90 percent at the line all in the same game.
