Caitlin Clark is now the all-time leading scorer in DI women’s college basketball history, surpassing former Washington Star Kelsey Plum with her 3,528th point during Thursday night’s game against Michigan.
The Iowa star and reigning Naismith National Player of the Year entered the game only eight points away from the mark after she scored 31 in a loss at Nebraska on Sunday.
But on Thursday — her 126th game at Iowa — Clark took the top spot on the list. The Hawkeye superstar had her eyes set on glory from the opening tip, canning each of Iowa’s first two shot attempts, and ultimately shattered the record in iconic Clark fashion, firing her near-instantaneous release from the center-court logo and rattling home history.
