WNBA star Brittney Griner made just her second public appearance on Saturday since being released from Russian detainment.
On site at the WM Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, Arizona, she watched from the 16th hole with wife Cherelle. It follows up on an appearance last month at the Martin Luther King Jr. Match in downtown Phoenix – her first public appearance since returning to the States.
According to the Associated Press, Griner is skipping USA Basketball training camp, which is currently taking place in Minnesota. Still recovering from her time in Russia, she also is spending time with her wife.
On Monday, USA Basketball head coach Cheryl Reeve told the AP that while she hasn’t spoken with Griner yet, the organization has made it clear that her decision to return to Team USA will be on her terms.
“We’ve missed her and when she’s ready we’ll welcome her back,” Reeve said.
Griner remains unsigned in free agency, but has stated in a previous Instagram post that she intends to play for the Phoenix Mercury again this season.
