Even just a few weeks into the 2023 WNBA season, teams are dealing with a number of injuries. The Phoenix Mercury were missing both Brittney Griner (hip) and Diana Taurasi (hamstring) in the team’s loss to the Washington Mystics on Friday, June 16.

Brittney Griner sat out for the second half of the Phoenix Mercury’s loss to the Seattle Storm on Tuesday, June 13, due to a hip injury. She traveled with the team to Washington, D.C., but remained sidelined for the Mercury’s loss against the Mystics on Friday, June 16.
